About the ArchiveWebsites have been selected for inclusion in the archive by members of the UK Web Archiving Consortium. Each consortium member selects and captures websites relevant to their individual collection devlopment policies. The archive includes a wide variety of websites including (but not limited to) e-theses, research papers, literary and creative projects, government websites, museum web pages, blogs and sites of cultural, historical and political importance. The consortium aims to ensure that these invaluable scholarly, cultural and scientific resources remain available for future generations. Already a large number of websites contained in the archive are no longer accessible at their original URL or are missing from the live Web. Details of these can be found in the archive report. The archive can be viewed from the home page of this website. You can search by the initial letter of the title of a website or browse by subject headings. For a breakdown of the hierarchical subject headings used in the archive see topic help. The UKWAC archive also includes several collections of websites intended to add depth to coverage of a news story, event or more general topical theme. For information on copyright please see our copyright statement. To see UKWAC's policy regarding personal information in the archive please see our privacy statement. If you are a website owner and would like further information on web archiving please see our FAQs (Webmaster Info Page) |
